The Media Adviser of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Adnan Abu Hasna said the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) paid 8 million dollars for rebuilding more than 1000 houses that were destroyed during the 2014 war in the Gaza Strip.

In statements on Monday, Abu Hasna said the sum is paid as the first tranche of a 40 million dollar grant which the bank pledged for Gaza reconstruction.

Tens of houses were destroyed during the war.
