Dubai - WAM
Dubai Arbitration Week – a practical programme bringing together practitioners from East and West, started today at the Dubai International Financial Centre.
The five-day schedule features sessions led by leading global arbitral bodies, organisations and practices, including conferences, symposia, working lunches and dinners, and networking opportunities.
Guest speaker William Rowley QC, Author and renowned arbitrator, said arbitration plays a significant role in the settlement of disputes across different international economic and trade sectors, adding that offshore oil and gas sector-related issues will feature high in the event, specially that, he said, most of the sector cases require settlement through arbitration rather than conventional litigation at national courts.
Attendees will have an opportunity to share news and views on developments in the field of international commercial arbitration with a cosmopolitan group of practitioners, reflecting Dubai’s growing regional and international presence.
