Russia should develop an effective export strategy in the field of LNG supplies, its share on the world market should grow to almost 20% within 15 years, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a government meeting.
"Global competition in the liquefied gas market is very tough. The countries exporters are investing in the industry, Qatar, Australia, Malaysia and a number of other countries are actively working, let alone the United States with its aggressive and sometimes breaking-all-the-rules strategy to promote its gas to the European market. Therefore, the situation requires maximum attention and decisive actions from us," Medvedev said.
He noted that while the share of the Russian Federation in the LNG market is about 6%, and in the next 15 years or more it should grow to 17-20%.
