Copts in Alexandria have come together to celebrate Palm Sunday, commemorating the day Jesus entered Jerusalem. Well-wishers carrying palm leaves and tree branches passed through the city, while churches hung up black insignia to remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the holy city. Churches began celebrations last Friday, kicking off a week of fasting for Holy Week. Festivities end on May 5.
