If you want to stop and smell the roses at one Italian museum, better plan on staying awhile as the founders say they have 750 varieties on display. Riccardo Viti started the Garden Museum of the Ancient Rose in Serramazzoni with his father Roberto after they moved from the nearby city of Modena, ANSA reported Monday. "We decided to buy a place for a change of life," Riccardo Viti said. "We already had a passion for garden and plants but this is a totally different thing." He said the museum has 3,500 flowers, including 750 varieties of roses. Viti said he could not pick a favorite type of rose. "It is difficult. It is like having two or three children and having to decide which one is your favorite," he said. "It depends on my mood." Viti said the museum opened for the season in April and will remain open through October.
