Culture Minister Barakat Awajan and his Palestinian counterpart Anwar Abu Eisheh on Thursday signed an executive programme for cultural cooperation between the two countries. Speaking to the press after the signing ceremony in Ramallah, Abu Eisheh said the three-year programme aims to increase art exhibitions, bookfairs, seminars and cultural festivals in the two countries. Awajan said that Jerusalem will be given the “lion’s share” of the agreement. He added that all the Kingdom’s governorates will carry events about Jerusalem as the Arab capital of culture.
