His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at Sakhir Palace received Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Chairperson of Shaikh Ibrahim bin Mohammed Centre for Culture and Researches, and the accompanying Board members.
HM the king commended the Centre in documenting Bahrain’s civilizational history and in hosting intellectuals, thinkers and authors to preserve Bahrain’s genuine culture and heritage to pass to next generations.
HM the King also lauded efforts to renovate Bahraini heritage buildings to host cultural events to promote openness on different civilizations, cultures and arts, wishing all further successes.
BACA President expressed gratitude for HM the King's constant support for local cultural events and for the Shaikh Ibrahim Centre since its inception, stressing that culture in Bahrain in its public and private sectors owes its achievements, which have strengthened the Kingdom's position as a regional and global cultural and cultural centre, to the wise leadership of HM the King.
BACA President gave an overview of the latest achievements, activities and publications of the Centre, noting that it has, since its inception, hosted more than 500 lecturers from around the world specialized in scientific and cultural areas.
