Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed on Wednesday the importance of coordination between the Arab League and the Palestinian leadership on future political steps.
This steps include protecting Palestinian rights, working toward ending the Israeli occupation and establishing the independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the 1967 borders.
Abbas made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abul-Gheit at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.
Abbas asserted the importance of Arab backing to the French initiative to convene an international conference on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict before the end of this year to resume the peace process.
He also noted to the importance of Arabs visits toward the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
Former secretary generals of the Arab League Nabil al Arabi and Amr Moussa and the former Jordanian prime minister Abdelsalam al Majali attended the meeting.
