H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has received Joseph Polisi, President of New York's Juilliard School.
The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of last night's opening of Louvre Abu Dhabi, highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy, as it represents a bridge of communication between countries of the world across a diverse array of fields.
Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the visit of the Juilliard School President, stressing the UAE's interest in global cultural diversity, encouragement of communication between all civilisations, advocating for lasting peace and building bridges of communication between the peoples of the world through art and music.
Mr. Polisi commended the UAE's leading position in the cultural sphere, saying that these assets nurture youth education and embrace different cultures promoting the UAE model of tolerance and diversity. He praised the exceptional vision and energy of the UAE leadership in achieving this laudable vision which sets a benchmark not only for the region but also globally.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Mr. Polisi reviewed joint cooperation in cultural fields in the presence of Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, the UAE's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and discussed ways to explore a new partnership.
