A review of the efforts made by the United Nations in areas of humanitarian aid and development assistance and the UAE contributions in this respect were the crux of a meeting held today by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with Mark Lowcock, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.
During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry's premises in Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah underscored the UAE's determination to continue to efficiently contribute to the international organisation's emergency relief operations around the world and to develop constructive partnerships with different international relief agencies.
The international official lauded the eminent role played by the UAE to provide valuable humanitarian aid to crisis-ridden area around the world.
The meeting was attended by Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for International Development Affairs.
