Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul-Gheit discussed Sunday with France's special envoy for the Middle East peace initiative Pierre Vimont the latest developments in French efforts to hold an international conference for peace in the Middle East.
AL Assistant Secretary General Hossam Zaki said in statement, Vimont presented his efforts, during the meeting to hold the conference proposed by France concerning the political process in the Middle East or what is called Israel-Palestine Peace Process.
After the meeting, Zaki expressed hope that the French efforts will be crowned with success, praising Vimont tours around the world capitals to achieve this goal.
France's special envoy for the Middle East submitted a report to Abul-Gheit about his contacts about the proposed conference, he added.
He stressed that the Arab League is in contact with the French side to follow up its efforts.
