Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit received Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva and discussed regional and international issues, focusing particularly on the Palestinian cause and the situation in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen.

The Arab League Chief hailed the Portuguese stances in support of the Palestinian cause at international arenas and refusal of the Israeli membership of the UN Security Council for the term 2019-2020.

The Portuguese minister, who is on visit to Egypt, reiterated his country’s support to the Palestinian issue and people’s inalienable rights.
