Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs Mahmoud Sami met with Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Yury Fedotov and his accompanying delegation.
Representative of the ministries of health, interior and justice as well as the general prosecutor office attended the meeting.
The two sides discussed means of promoting joint cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and the cross-border crime.
Fedotov said that the organization's office in Cairo is one of the most important regional ones because of the profound relations binding Egypt and the UNODC in the domain of fighting extremism.
Meanwhile, Fedotov met also with the ministers of justice and interior as well as the prosecutor general.
They probed the latest developments on the international and regional arenas pertaining to fighting terrorism.
