Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, held a series of meetings with his counterparts at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
Bassil met with the Foreign Minister of the Holy See, Bishop Paul Gallagher. They addressed the Christian presence in the East and the issue of diversity.
Minister Bassil also met his Italian counterpart, Angelino Alfano, with whom he discussed Lebanese President Michel Aoun's planned visit to Italy.
Bassil also met the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Frederica Mogherini who reiterated the support of the European Union to Lebanon in the crisis of refugees.
On another level, the Lebanese foreign minister met with his counterparts from Serbia, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Madagascar and Turkey
