Belarus President, Alexander Lukashenko, met with Ukraine President, Petro Poroshenko, in the UAE this week, reported the Belarusian Telegraph Agency, BelTA.

"Our trade and economic cooperation is increasingly vibrant. In spite of various difficulties and obstacles, our trade turnover has exceeded US$3 billion. Perhaps, it makes up about $3.5 billion as of today. But we have a very good chance to expand cooperation by promoting the interaction of regions," President Lukashenko said.

President Poroshenko praised vigorous efforts to implement previous agreements concerning demarcation issues, trade and economic cooperation. He was satisfied with the fact that the sides are expanding interaction in various fields, including the economy and social sector.

Mr. Lukashenko is in the UAE on a working visit, and Mr. Poroshenko is also paying a working visit to the UAE on 1st and 2nd November after paying an official visit to Saudi Arabia.
