Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Wednesday, Major General Waleed bin Faleh Al Dhaheri, Commander of the Peninsula Shield Force, who assumed his duties as commander of the force.
Lt. General Al Rumaithi welcomed Major General Al Dhaheri and congratulated him on his new appointment and wished him luck and success in his mission.
He also praised the effective role of the Peninsula Shield Force in defending the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, member countries and its advanced level of readiness, efficiency and capacity while stressing that the force is a leading model of cooperation and integration, which reflects the mutual will and persistence of GCC countries to promote joint defence.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of mutual cooperation and coordination to promote mutual defence among GCC countries, as well as further developing the force and raising its military capabilities and readiness.
