The Chief of Staffs, lt Gen Imad Mustaffa Adawi, on Sunday received the Executive Director of the East Africa Standby Force EASF Dr Abdalla Omar Bo who arrived in Khartoum to take part in the Field Training Exercise of the forces (East Peace -2) which will be launched with the arrival of all forces involved in the exercise, Monday.
The Chief of staff has pointed out that Sudan at the highest political level closely follow the event, referring to the strategic objectives of the FTX, cementing the need for Africa to depend on itself and on its potential to face any future and immediate challenges.
Gen Adawi has stressed the role of the media in reflecting the exercise and disseminating its news.
He said the council of ministers has approved the east Africa force law and submitted it to the National Assembly for ratification, thus opening the door wide for Sudan participation and for playing a greater role in peace and security at the level of the region and the continent at large.
