Egypt and Romania discussed on Wednesday enhancing cooperation in the power and energy domains.
A meeting, between Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker and Romanian Ambassador here Mihai-Stefan Stuparu comes as part of the Electricity Ministry's efforts to boost the national power grid to cope up with the growing demand.
In a press release, Shaker expressed Egypt's desire to expand cooperation with all EU countries.
He reviewed challenges that faced Egypt in the power domain over the past years and measures taken to fill in the gap between power production and growing demand.
He said the ministry is working hard to improve power services in terms of production, transport and distribution and carry out more renewable energy projects, which are considered an important energy source.
The Romanian diplomat expressed his country's interest in investing in renewable energy projects in Egypt not only as equipment supplier but as an investor.
