Assistant FM for Americas' Affairs Mohamed Farid Monib

Egypt and Venezuela held on Tuesday a consultative session in Cairo, which focused on ways of boosting bilateral relations.
The Egyptian side was led by Assistant foreign minister for the Americas' Affairs Mohamed Farid Monib while the Venezuelan side was chaired by deputy foreign minister Reinaldo Bolivar.
The session comes as Egypt is bracing for running in the UN Security Council (UNSC) elections for a non-permanent seat.
Venezuela is a current member of the council.
The session reviewed a number of topics, topped by the situation in Libya.
Monib called on the Venezuelan official to support an Arab resolution on Libya in the UN Security Council.
"If passed, the resolution will have a positive effect on the efforts of combating terrorism in the region," Monib said.
