Egyptian Ambassador to the Vatican Hatim seif el Nasr had talks Saturday with President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity Kurt Koch on means of cooperation among Egyptian religious institutions, especially the Coptic and Orthodox churches, and the Vatican.
In a statement Saturday, the Foreign Ministry said the meeting is held ahead of Koch's visit to Egypt in February to attend the Oriental Orthodox International Commission meeting.
Koch hailed the Egyptian efforts to combat extremism, terror and bigotry and disseminate the principles of forgiveness and accepting the Other.
Seif el Nasr lauded the distinguished Egyptian-Vatican ties.
