Egypt's ambassador in Beirut Mohamed Badr Eddin met on Friday with Amine Gemayel, the former leader of Kataeb Party.

The meeting tackled the conditions in Lebanon and the region as part of Cairo's contacts with the Lebanese political factions, Badr Eddin was quoted by a statement released by the Egyptian embassy as saying.

He asserted Egypt's keenness on ending the current presidential vacuum in Lebanon, said the press release.
