Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati embarked on a two-day visit to South Sudan to discuss cooperation on Thursday, Egypt's Ambassador to South Sudan Ayman Mokhtar said.
During the first day of his visit, Abdel Aati held meeting with First Vice President of South Sudan Taban Deng Gai, Mokhtar said.
The vice president asserted the importance of boosting cooperation between the two countries, the diplomat said.
Also, the minister is expected to attend the inauguration of an underground water well in Juba, the Ambassador added.
The project is part of a joint development cooperation plan that is endorsed by the two countries in addition to an MoU and agreement to establish four dams and clean the White Nile's Baḥr al-Jabal section, the diplomat added.
