Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker held on Sunday a meeting with Belgian Ambassador to Egypt Sibille de Cartier.
They tackled ways of boosting relations between Egypt and Belgium in the electricity sector and how the Egyptian government managed to overcome the electricity issue in the country, Shaker said.
The meeting comes also as part of Egypt's ongoing efforts to exchange expertise with Belgium in order to improve the performance of the national electricity grid, he added.
The Belgian ambassador, for her part, expressed her country's readiness to effectively contribute to the expansion of electricity generation projects from different energy sources, especially using solar cell systems.
She also praised projects carried out by the Egyptian government to overcome the electricity problem.
