Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmy on Tuesday signed a protocol of cooperation with Swiss Ambassador to Egypt Markus Leitner. 

Under the agreement, Cairo will activate the national program of solid waste management. 

The deal covers waste management programs in four Nile Delta and Upper Egypt governorates. 

The signing ceremony was attended by head of the waste management authority Fatema Al Zahraa and the assistant minister of environment for international relations and sustainable development.
