Cairo - Arab Today
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, currently in Addis Ababa, met Thursday with his Kenyan counterpart Amina Mohamed on the sidelines of the African Union Executive Council meeting.
The two foreign ministers probed regional developments, mainly the situation in Somalia, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
They agreed on the importance of following up the outcome of the joint Egyptian-Kenyan committee meeting, which took place in Nairobi in January 2015, Abu Zeid said.
As for Somalia, Shoukry had stressed the need to support stability in the country and the Somali government to enable it to carry out its duties, provide basic services to its people and fight terrorism, the spokesman added.
