Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Saturday with Lebanon's former prime and Future bloc leader Fouad Siniora in Cairo.
They discussed the political conditions in Lebanon along with the outcome of a recent visit paid by Shoukry to Beirut where he conferred with representatives of the different political factions, said foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Siniora hailed Cairo's key role in supporting stability in Lebanon throughout the history and the Lebanese people's appreciation for Egypt's regional influence.
The top diplomat asserted during the meeting that Egypt spares no effort to back Lebanon and its political stability to restore its effective role in serving the Arab causes. He asserted that the current presidential vacuum in Lebanon is unacceptable.
He said that all political powers should exert utmost efforts to end this crisis.
