The Minister for Foreign Affairs, professor Ibrahim Ghandour, on Sunday received the African Development Bank country Director Robel Drajoi who submitted his credentials as new representative of the bank to the Sudan
The Minister has stressed Sudan's keenness to boost the bilateral relations between the bank and the Sudan and to facilitate the mission of the bank representative to the Sudan.
The ADB representative has meanwhile congratulated the Sudan on the occasion of lifting the US sanctions imposed on the Sudan.
He further pointed out that the bank has approved its development projects for the Sudan during the fiscal 2017-2019 which stipulates funding of a number of projects in the Sudan particularly in the agriculture and health sector, as well as capacity building and education areas.
He said the projects also included funding the Port Sudan water projects and assisting the Sudan overcome the burden of the foreign debts.
The Minister expressed his appreciation for bank's role in development areas and that the country looks forwards to the bank providing assistance in alleviating Sudan's foreign debts burden.
