Assistant Foreign Minister for Neighboring Countries' Affairs Osama el Magdoub met Monday here with Sudanese presidential aide Jalal Youssef al Digair.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Khartoum Osama Shaltot.

El Magdoub told MENA that the get-together took up preparations for the meetings of the higher joint committee that will be held soon in Cairo between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar al Bashir.

They also discussed bilateral cooperation and implementing developmental projects on the ground for the best interests of the two peoples as the both countries have natural resources that can support their national economy.

The Egyptian diplomat underlined that there is political will to promote joint ties, noting that opening of the Ashkit/Qustul had good outcome.

The inauguration of Arkin/West of Nile crossing will contribute to increase the trade exchange between the two countries.
