The Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, received in his office Wednesday the special envoy of the UN Secretary General for Sudan and South Sudan, Nicholas Haysom, and discussed ways of reviving the negotiation process with the rejecting parties for realizing inclusive peace in Sudan.
The Foreign Minister has affirmed Sudan commitment to work for achieving a peaceful solution with little rejecting category that did not join the peace march in the country, according to the agreed upon principles.
Mr. Haysom has appreciated the decree issued by the President of the Republic on extension of the cease-fire for more three months, a matter which affirms Sudan government seriousness to reach a lasting peace.
He informed Prof. Ghandour on the efforts being exerted by his office for reactivating the peace process in collaboration with other parties.
The Foreign Minister and the UN Secretary General's envoy also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, including the efforts to realize peace and stability in South Sudan.
