GCC foreign ministers and their counterparts in the European Union met Monday at the EU headquarters in Brussels

GCC foreign ministers and their counterparts in the European Union met Monday at the EU headquarters in Brussels on the sidelines of the 25th session of the GCC-European Ministerial Council. 
HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi headed Qatar's delegation to the meeting. 
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir, the chairman of the current session of the council, participated in the meeting, while Federica Mogherini, the EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy and vice-president of the European Commission, represented the EU. 
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed mechanisms of the developing and supporting mutual ties in light of the current challenges in order to reach united stances regarding regional issues. 
HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, head of Qatar's mission to the EU, attended the meeting. 
Qatar had hosted the 24th session of the ministerial council last year. The ministerial session, along with other technical meetings, take place annually in line with a 1988 mutual cooperation agreement.
