Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb met on Tuesday with the Bruneian ambassador in Cairo to discuss educational cooperation between Azhar and Brunei.

The ambassador praised efforts exerted by Azhar to spread the moderate teachings of Islam in the world.

Tayyeb said he is ready to increase scholarships awarded to Bruneian students to study in Azhar.

Tayyeb wished success for the newly-appointed ambassador in his term in office.
