Libyan Army General Khalifa Haftar, currently vising here, held Monday morning a closed-door meeting with Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu.
They discussed the situation in Libya and prospects of military cooperation.
Later in the day, Haftar is set to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev.
At an official invitation from Russia, the Libyan military chief arrived Moscow on Sunday for talks on issues of mutual concern and boosting bilateral relations.
Haftar's current visit to Moscow is the second of its kind in less than six months.
During his visit in June, the Libyan general discussed with top Russian diplomats his country's ongoing crisis.
