Beirut - Arab Today
Prime Minister Saad Hariri received today at the "Center House" the Minister of Displaced, Talal Arslan, who said after the meeting: "I congratulate the Lebanese on this remarkable unity that took place and this is something new for the Lebanese people. In the past 45 years, we didn’t see such a major national gathering as is the case today around Prime Minister Hariri, due to his transparency and credibility in handling politics in the country."
He added: "I thanked Prime Minister Hariri for suspending his resignation. Of course, many were surprised by this step but I was not because I know him and I worked with him closely in the government. Prime Minister Hariri endured a lot during the past political era and his stances always aimed to ensure the unity of the Lebanese, the strength of the Constitutional institutions, security and political stability and its impact on the economic and financial situation in the country."
He continued: "We also appreciate the distinguished position of the President of the Republic who is holding consultations with everybody without exception, and they are showing openness. Everyone agrees on the unity of the Lebanese, on strengthening the constitutional institutions and on dialogue to spare the country any tensions just as we did for the past year. This spirit is still going on for everyone and this is a very big achievement."
Earlier, Prime Minister Hariri met with the Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, اagatay Erciyes, and discussed with him the situation and the bilateral relations. Hariri also received MP Bahiya Hariri
