Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday policies adopted by world powers have resulted in the insecurities in the region

Iraqi Planning Minister Salman al Jameeli had a meeting with US President's Envoy for the International Alliance Brett Mcgurk to discuss the latest developments of the ongoing Mosul liberation operation and international efforts to back Iraq in this regard.

The meeting was attended by US Ambassador in Baghdad Douglas Silliman.

The two sides discussed measures taken by the Iraqi government to ensure the return of displaced Iraqis to areas that have been liberated from the grip of Daesh militants.

During the meeting, the Iraqi minister called on the United States and the international community to back Iraq to restore stability in the liberated areas.

Mcgurk, for his part, asserted the US support for efforts exerted by the Iraqi government in its war on terrorism.

The international community backed these efforts to enable Iraq to overcome security and economic conditions and help in the reconstruction process, he said.

Mcgurk also lauded Iraq's plan to retake Mosul from Daesh fighters.
