Iraqi Defense Minister Khalid al Obeidi met on Sunday with a delegation of the US Congress.

Attending the meeting was US ambassador to Iraq Stewart Johns.

The two sides tackled efforts exerted by the Iraqi army to improve the combat skills of Iraqi servicemen and fight terrorism in the country.

Obeidi said military operations are in full swing to liberate all parts of Iraq from Daesh militants.

He further thanked the US Congressmen for their visit to Iraq, praising friendly ties between the two countries.
