Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Ati met Tuesday with Hussein Gadain, the representative of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Cairo, and his accompanying delegation.

The minister stressed the importance of developing irrigation systems and raising the efficiency of using water and protected agriculture techniques to increase productivity and income.

Ministry Undersecretary Ragab Abdel Azim also met with Gadain to discuss formulating a proposal on a project to be carried out by the FAO to increase the capacity of the water unit in the 1.5 million feddan reclamation project.
