Jordanian King and Iraqi PM discuss regional developments

King Abdullah II of Jordan yesterday held talks with Iraqi Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi, on bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, H.M. King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's firm stance in support of Iraq in its efforts to maintain its security, stability, territorial integrity and cohesion of its people, in line with the constitution.

The King said that building a secure, stable and united Iraq is a key pillar of the region's security and stability, expressing Jordan's full readiness to support Iraq with all its potential, in order to build a prosperous Iraq that fulfills the aspirations of its people and supports its nation.

During the meeting, Al-Abadi highlighted his government's efforts to address challenges and achieve national reconciliation, voicing his country's appreciation for Jordan's stances in support of Iraq's unity, security and stability.

Talks also dealt with regional developments, efforts to find comprehensive political solutions to crises in the region, as well as efforts to fight terrorism, within a comprehensive strategy.
