Mohamed bin Zayed meets engineers working on improving educational

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has received the engineers who are working on various projects to develop the UAE’s educational facilities.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council, was present on the occasion.

Sheikh Mohamed was briefed on the Ministry of Education first phase of its latest development project, as part of a comprehensive programme that was launched at the end of the previous academic year, to improve the country’s public schools.

Developed projects included 24 schools and 16 kindergartens, with 7 in Ajman, 11 in Sharjah, 8 in Fujairah, 4 in Dubai, 1 in Umm Al Qaiwain, and 9 in Ras al-Khaimah.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the importance of creating a model school, which will be characterised by its attractive environment and modern facilities, while including all the necessary components to ensure an effective and inclusive education. He also stressed the need for the efficient use of the development process and utilise its complete potential, making Emirati schools the ideal place for learning.

As part of its development plans, the Ministry of Education has set 9 objectives to improve the specifications of school building.

These standards includes the development of architectural facades and external fences, student restaurants, reception hall and main entrance, a community innovation centre that includes robot laboratories, learning resources and gymnasiums, administrative rooms and classrooms, use of spaces, laboratories and school facilities, the closure and adaptation of all corridors, landscaping and green areas, as well as the addition of fire extinguishing systems and fire alarms.

The meeting was attended by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul AlFalasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education, as well as other officials from the ministry.
