His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, met today with the delegation of the International Conference of Sports for Women 2017, ICSW, at Al Bahr Palace.
The two-day event, being held under the theme "Inspiring Generations", was launched today in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and the follow-up of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Fatima bint Mubarak Academy for Ladies Sports, and Chairwoman of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region; Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC; H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in Al Ain Region; H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; H.H. Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs (ZHO), and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance.
High Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the delegation and was briefed about the most important activities, programmes, workshops, and main issues that will be discussed in the conference. He wished the delegation luck and success to enhance sports in general and women sports in particular.
Sheikh Mohamed hailed the organisation of the event in Abu Dhabi, which is being held under the title "Inspiring Generations''. The conference is being attended by an elite group of people who pioneer women sports globally.
He said that the conference represents a wonderful gathering point to highlight the expertise, ideas and initiatives, enhance international relations, and introduce the role of the UAE sportswomen and their mission, as well as support the efforts of development in the local, GCC and Arab women's sports movement.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince discussed with women sports leaders and participants about the studies at the conference and encourage plans to support the march of women and develop their presence at all international sports events.
The visiting delegations included Sheikha Naima Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the Arab Gulf Women's Sports, Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, a member of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chair of the Women's Sports Committee, and others.
