His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Sunday, received Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, who is currently on an official visit to the country.
After welcoming President Lukashenko, the two sides discussed relations of cooperation and friendship between the UAE and Belarus, and the means of supporting and developing it to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries and its people.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Lukashenko reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation between their countries, especially economic, investment and trade relations, as well as opportunities for further developing bilateral ties. The two leaders also exchanged views on international and regional developments and discussed issues of mutual interest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Mohamed said that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is always looking to strengthen its relations with friendly countries further, building bridges of cooperation with them, and establishing partnerships that serve common interests.
He went on to say that the growth and development of UAE-Belarus relations reflect the desire of the leaders of both countries to push forward and strengthen the bonds of friendship between them.
The President of Belarus, in turn, expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and meeting the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince. He praised the level of growing relations between the two countries and their friendly people. He also expressed his country's keenness to bolster economic and investment cooperation with the UAE and learn from its development and urban experience.
The meeting was attended by Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court; Viktor Lukashenko, National Security Advisor of Belarus; Roman Golovchenko, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the UAE, and the accompanying delegation of the Belarusian President.
