Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum

Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, yesterday met with Poland's newly-elected President Andrzej Duda who will formally take over his constitutional powers in August 6, succeeding the incumbent President.

The meeting came at the conclusion of Sheikh Mohammed's official visit to Poland.

Duda welcomed Sheikh Mohammed in Poland as a key political figure who has sharp insight and wisdom. He noted that he is following the UAE's cultural, humanitarian and economic achievements in general and Dubai in particular, which he described as a "cultural and success icon" in the field of business, entrepreneurship, finance and successful investment destination for major international companies as well as successful businesspersons across the globe."

He also wished that Sheikh Mohammed's visit would lead to good results which would contribute towards enhancing the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He also promised that his future government would work to boost new cooperation bridges between his country and the UAE, aimed to build new partnerships between the two sides in joint investment fields, exchange of expertise and strengthening the tourism sector.

The Polish President said, "I have the great honour to meet such first prestigious Arab and international leader since winning the elections."

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the elected Polish President for the confidence reposed in him by the Polish people, praising the democratic approach adopted by Poland since its independence to take the country towards political, economic and cultural openness.

He also expressed his confidence that the coming stage will see notable development in bilateral relations between the two friendly peoples and countries saying, "I see you, Mr President, as a good omen and full of energy which would transform Poland to a new stage of prosperity and openness as well as pursuing new global partnerships in all fields, particularly with the UAE."

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Mohammed Ibrahim AI Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness the Ruler's Court, Government of Dubai, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, and Asim Mirza Al Rahmah, UAE Ambassador to Poland attended from the UAE side.

Deputy Polish Prime Minister and a number of Polish ministers also attended the meeting.
