Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr had talks on Wednesday with EU Ambassador in Cairo Ivan Surkos on cooperation and partnership priorities within the framework of the 2017-2020 strategy.
The talks focused on means of promoting cooperation, especially in small and medium size enterprises as well as electricity, health and water management domains.
Nasr highlighted the importance of the Egyptian-EU ties, noting that the EU is a key development partner to Egypt.
She noted that the government's socio-economic program aims at improving economic conditions and raising people's standards of living, especially low-income strata.
She said Egypt's economic progress would have a ripple impact on stability in the Middle East and Europe.
She said the ministry seeks boosting investments, urging European investors to do business in Egypt as the ministry offers all needed facilities for increasing their investments alongside supporting development projects.
The EU diplomat hailed the EU-Egyptian ties as well as the Egyptian socio-economic program.
He stressed the EU's keenness on enhancing investment and development cooperation with Egypt.
