Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Finland's Foreign Minister Timo Soini on Thursday.

At the meeting, Netanyahu spelled out the reasons why Israel opposes the French peace initiative, explaining that the conference allows the Palestinians to avoid direct negotiations, Yediot Ahronot reported.
