Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met here today with John Gatt Rutter, the representative of EU in the Palestinian territories During the meeting, the Palestinian president briefed the EU Envoy on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories including the political process.

Abbas stressed the importance of bilateral relations between Palestine and the European Union, and ways to develop them for the benefit of both sides.

For his part, the EU Envoy stressed the bloc's continued support to the Palestinian people in various fields.
