Prime Minister Sherif Ismail had a meeting on Tuesday with Moroccan Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy Moulay Hafid Elalamy and his accompanying delegation on boosting economic ties between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Trade and Industry Minister Tareq Qabil and Moroccan Ambassador in Cairo Ahmed al Tazy.
In statements, Cabinet Spokesman Ashraf Sultan said Ismail, during the meeting, stressed the necessity of reviewing all proposals to enhance economic cooperation between Cairo and Rabat to outline a joint vision for bilateral projects ahead of the convocation of the joint higher committee.
The meeting also took up promising investment opportunities in the country that could give a push to bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in the textile and engineering industries, in the coming stage, the spokesman added.
The two sides also discussed boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of automotive industry, the spokesman said.
During the meeting, the Moroccan minister said he is looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Egypt and establishing good ties between the two countries, he said.
Elalamy also expressed keenness on coordinating efforts to remove obstacles facing trade exchange between the two countries, the spokesman added.
