Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received on Wednesday at the presidential premises here FIFA President Sepp Blatter in the presence of President of Palestine Football Association (PFA) Jibril Rajoub.
Rajoub paid tribute to support provided by the FIFA to the Palestinian football, adding that the Israeli arbitrary practices harmed the Palestinian sports.
During the meeting, Abbas asserted that the Palestinian leadership separates any political disputes away from sports.
Palestine is committed to the principles of sports competition and rules set by the FIFA, the Palestinian president added.
For his part, Blatter described his meeting with Abbas as fruitful as they discussed the importance of achieving peace between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
