President of Russia Vladimir Putin met today with Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas. 
During the meeting, they discussed the idea of calling for an international conference on Middle East peace on basis of the French initiative. They also discussed aspects of economic cooperation between the two countries. 
Putin said that Russia will support Palestine's efforts for the Middle East settlement.
