Russian President Vladimir Putin will receive in Sochi on Friday Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani who will present his country’s proposals on resolving the Syrian crisis, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov has told reporters.
According to the Russian news agency Tass, he noted that, as a rule, the head of the Russian state does not meet with other countries’ foreign ministers, but in this case "a special agreement was reached, as during the April 19 telephone conversation the emir of Qatar asked the president to receive the foreign minister who is going to discuss with our president new Qatari ideas and considerations in the context of the Syrian settlement."
"[During the conversation with Putin] the minister will express, on behalf of the emir of Qatar, some considerations, which we will be glad to hear and take into account," Ushakov said.
