Russian president’s special envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met on Friday with Iraq’s Ambassador to Moscow Ismail Shafik Mohsen, TASS News Agency reported.
The situation in Iraq in the light of efforts against Daesh was in focus of the meeting, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday.
The two sides discussed current issues of the regional agenda, first of all the development of the situation in Iraq in the light on ongoing confrontation with Daesh, as well as the settlement of the Syrian crisis," the ministry said.
"The two diplomats also touched upon a number of practical aspects of further expanding Russia-Iraq comprehensive cooperation," the ministry added
