Abdel Fattah El Sisi has stressed Egypt's keenness on boosting cooperation with Russia in all fields.
At a meeting with Speaker of the Russian State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, Sisi hailed as "historical" and "strong" relations with Moscow.
Naryshkin conveyed Russian President Vladimir Putin's best regards to Sisi, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.
He told Sisi that Russia appreciates the role played by Egypt to achieve security and stability in the region.
Naryshkin congratulated Sisi on completing the parliamentary elections and the start of the parliamentary sessions.
Russia is looking forward to boosting parliamentary relations with Egypt, Naryshkin said.
Sisi, for his part, stressed the importance of enhancing parliamentary ties between the two countries.
The two sides hoped that flight movement between the two countries would resume soon, the presidential spokesman said.
Sisi also posted Naryshkin on Egypt's efforts to fight terrorism.
